Other information and advice:
.Riders will receive last minute instructions just before the start (the morning of the first day). These instructions need to be followed.
.It's the riders responsibility to be sufficiently prepared end equipped to do the ride. Check the details on the bikepacker webpage to know what you can expect.
.You should ensure that both yourself, your bike and your gear are in a good state to complete the 2-day trip. A standard road bike is NOT suitable for this event (check this link for tips for your bike and this link for tips for your gear).
4. If, during the event, you decide to change your route and distance, then all consequences of this action are yours.
.The organizers and staff can take any action necessary to assure the safety of the participant(s).
.The Dirty Boar Gravel Bikepacker is NOT a race. This means that there will be other traffic (also in the forest) and that all the traffic rules apply.
.We will ride in a remote and protected area. Please respect nature and don't leave any rubbish (packaging, punctured inner tubes....) behind.
.Participants are required to wear a cycling helmet that is in a good condition. Any rider not conforming with this term can be removed from the event (before or during).
.Please also check the recommended equipment on our website (at the Bikepacker page). Depending on the expected weather the organization might make some extra recommendations (clothing, tyre choice...).
.The organizers reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event should access to the course or sufficient portions of the course be deemed too dangerous due to severe adverse weather conditions. Or out of general health and safety precautions.
.The event registration form must be completed by a person aged 18 years or over. This event is not open to riders under 18 unless he/she has written approval of a parent/guardian and is accompanied by a parent/guardian the whole time/ride. The adult will take responsibility for the under 18 year old.
.All riders are covered by a basic third party insurance for the duration of the event. The cost of this is included in your entry fee. An insurance claim needs to be send within 8 days of the event. In addition, VZW De Vettige Swa's are covered by public liability insurance. As this is a basic insurance we suggest you also take a personal insurance.
.Organizers cannot take responsibility for loss or damage of personal possessions during the event.
.The route will not be marked. Also more demanding sections will NOT be marked. So keep your eyes open at all times. It is the individual rider’s responsibility to take care and make his/her own decision regarding whether to ride a section, to walk it or to skip it.
.By entering the event each participant grants to VZW De Vettige Swa's an exclusive, absolute and irrevocable worldwide assignment in perpetuity in the photographs/film/video/electronic representations and/or sound recordings of the participant obtained at the event and grants to VZW De Vettige Swa's the right to use and publish such content in any and all media. The participant hereby releases VZW De Vettige Swa's from any and all liability from such use and promotion. The participant hereby authorises the reproduction, sale, copyright, exhibit, broadcast, electronic storage and/or distribution of said photographs/film/video tapes/electronic representations and/or sound recordings without limitation at the discretion of VZW De Vettige Swa's. The participant specifically waives any right to any compensation they may have for appearing in any of the photographs/film/video/electronic representations and/or sound recordings of the participant at The Dirty Boar Gravle ride.
.If a participant decides to leave the trip for any reason, they need to call the event centre before the close of the event. Not doing so will mean that a search may be organised and the subsequent cost will be billed to the participant.
